A week is the most common format, spending one night in Djerba allows you to have 6 nights in bivouac, a great experience. Djerba is the most convenient airport to arrive in Tunisia when you want to go hiking, there are many flights arriving from everywhere.
One-week trek from Djerba to Djerba
For the bivouac we provide tents, mattresses and blankets, it is up to you to bring a good sleeping bag because the nights can be cold…
We offer two treks in the region of Ksar Ghilane, it is from there that we enter the great eastern erg and its ochre sand dunes the fastest.
The “tour of Gour al Mida” route passes through the small mountains on the plateau of al Mida and the well which is close to it. You will most likely meet nomadic families of Algerian origin with their herds. It is a varied, easy route.
From Zmela to Garet Ali will take you a little further south, more large dunes, a little more tiring.
We can also offer other treks, for example in the Tembaïn region and even towards the Oudhad Erriched lake but you have to be a very good walker to do it in a week.
Depending on the flight times you will spend the first or last night in a hotel in Djerba. We offer the Dar Ali hotel, small and friendly, very well kept. But, on request, we can book for you in a different 4 or 5 * hotel.
